South Africa had a glimmer of hope in the final minutes when a penalty was awarded. However, after a review using video technology, the decision was overturned, and the opportunity slipped away.
The loss puts South Africa in a challenging position as they look ahead to their next group-stage match against Zimbabwe, scheduled for Saturday. With determination and adjustments, they’ll aim to bounce back stronger.
